Season of Nourishment
Help Families Stay Fed in November
In Kentucky, more than 600,000 people rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) each month. That’s roughly one in eight Kentuckians. The federal government shutdown has halted the funding that provides food assistance for families across the state. Without this support, families who rely on SNAP benefits may struggle to afford groceries in November.
In Kentucky, the vast majority of the families we serve receive SNAP benefits. These benefits help provide daily meals, healthy food options and a sense of stability. As this support disappears, hundreds of families we serve will face unexpected hardship.
The Season of Nourishment campaign will help fill that gap. Together, we can ensure families have the food they need when they need it most.
Our Goal
KVC Kentucky serves over 3,200 individuals each month, and 81% of the families we support are TANF/SNAP eligible. Each family could lose hundreds of dollars in assistance every month. We want to raise enough to cover that shortfall over the month of November and ensure every family has what they need to get through this crisis.
How You Can Help
KVC Kentucky is working to support our families by filling gaps left by SNAP and other food assistance programs. You can help ensure families have enough to eat this November in several ways:
- Give online through our website.
- Donate grocery gift cards such as Kroger or Walmart.
- Host a food drive at your workplace, church or school.
- Contribute non-perishable food items such as canned vegetables, pasta, rice, hearty soups or peanut butter.
- Drop off donations at KVC Kentucky, 2250 Thunderstick Drive in Lexington KY, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout November.
- Share our campaign flyer with the QR code that links to the donation page.
- Spread the word on social media and invite others to join the effort.
All donations help KVC Kentucky provide food, supplies and additional support to families we serve, ensuring children and parents have what they need to thrive.
Why Your Support Matters
When families lose access to SNAP benefits, they lose more than a meal. They lose security, routine and comfort. This campaign will help restore that.
Many families across Kentucky are facing difficult choices every day like whether to pay their bills or buy groceries to put food on the table. Rising food costs make it even harder for parents and caregivers to provide nutritious meals especially for those already managing financial challenges.
Your support helps families put food on the table when they need it most.
