The Reasons Why So Many Kentucky Children and Families Are Struggling

Kentucky Children and Families Struggling

According to WelfareInfo.org, Kentucky has one of the highest poverty rates in the country. While part of this can be attributed to the opioid epidemic, numerous other factors contribute to this reality, including childhood adversity, mental health needs, access to social services and more.

At KVC Kentucky, our mission is to enrich and enhance the lives of children and families by providing medical and behavioral healthcare, social services and education, but we can only accomplish this with your help. This infographic breaks down the most common reasons that lead to children and families struggling, the role our organization plays, and how you can help.

As mentioned in the infographic, there are several ways you can be involved. We need your help making a difference by donating or volunteering, joining our team, or by becoming an advocate for children and families. And while KVC no longer provides foster care, we encourage you to learn more about becoming a Kentucky foster parent here. We hope you’ll join us in strengthening our state’s most vulnerable populations.
