March is National Social Work Month! During this time, KVC Kentucky honors the incredible ways that our social workers, clinicians and other professionals help children, adults and families. Social work is a helping profession focused on enhancing human well-being and meeting people’s basic and complex needs, with a particular focus on those who are vulnerable, oppressed and living in poverty. No matter their specific licensure, KVC employees bring compassion, knowledge and care that make a tremendous positive impact in hundreds of communities.

This year’s theme is “The Time Is Right for Social Work.” According to the National Association of Social Workers, “The time is always right for social work. However more people are entering the field because the life-affirming services that social workers provide are needed more than ever. This is especially true as our nation continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, systemic racism, economic inequality, global warming, and other crises. That is why the theme for Social Work Month 2022 is The Time is Right for Social Work.”
