KVC Kentucky Partners With Step by Step, Inc. to Host Parenting Classes for New, Young Mothers

Becoming a mother at a young age can be a challenging, uncertain time for a young woman. With this in mind, KVC Kentucky has partnered with Step By Step, Inc. to host a FREE 8-week informational class called Step Into Parenting dedicated to helping these new moms learn the skills needed to raise their children.

The Step Into Parenting classes are a “what to expect” guide for young women, allowing them a forum for questions and answers, education and support. New mothers will learn positive parenting skills and positive childcare techniques. Classes are open to young, single mothers ages 14 to 24 who:

  • are pregnant
  • have open cases with Cabinet for Health and Family Services
  • want to better understand their children’s behavior as related to stages of development
  • want to learn and understand different techniques in discipline

Classes are Monday nights beginning Feb 29 and ending April 11. Free childcare and dinner are provided each week along with fun activities for moms and children.

Schedule:
Monday Nights, 6:30pm-8:30pm
February 29 through April 11 (No class on March 28 for spring break)
